This idyllic private spot in one of Turkey’s most desirable rural locations is an ideal holiday cottage retreat but within easy reach of the beach, lovely Bitez village, shops, markets and restaurants.

Located in the south west Aegean, the region surrounding Bodrum and south to the spectacular Gulf of Gokova offers visitors a wonderful climate with a long summer season lasting from April to October. This famously beautiful coastline is often known as the Turquoise Coast, a nod to the fabulous crystal clear waters and its immaculate beaches, coves and secluded bays. The town of Bodrum, originally the ancient city of Halicarnassus, is a treasure trove of history and culture, overlooked by the superb 15th century crusader Castle of St Peter, and home to the world class Museum of Underwater Archaeology, and to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, The Mausoluem. The ruins of many ancient sites survive in the region from Halicarnassus itself to Pedasa, Labranda, and Myndos. The Bodrum Peninsular is dotted with lovely coastal villages with beaches, walks, restaurants, nightlife and shopping - all easily accessible via the excellent local transport system.
The Mandarin Orchards of Bitez are a protected conservation area where building is strictly limited. The countryside remains a wonderful environment for birds, hedgehogs, tortoises, and squirrels make their homes in the peaceful meadows and the meandering riverbed that leads to the sea. Here also local village life continues much as it has done for decades. Nearby Bitez Beach offers a wide selection of restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes; walk a little way back from the beach to find small teahouses and cafes used by the villagers. For those seeking some action, water sports and sailing are very popular here; an excellent windsurf school and Bodrum Kiteboard School situated on the beach, welcomes both beginners and experienced surfers, while a diving school is located at the harbour offering courses or just a fun beginners day. Daily Boat Trips leave from Bitez Harbour, and Olive Cottage offers guests a very special day out on our own boat.

Guest Book

Peaceful, tranquil, private paradise, it's hard to believe this cottage is so close to a lively beach! Shop and eat in the village. Go on Ahmet's boat trip... Superb hosts! We will return. Most relaxing holiday ever
Loved every minute of our stay at this beautiful little cottage. Set in a peaceful location but with everything you could possibly need. Only a 10 minute walk from the beach or the village. No need to say too much about this cottage as it is just absolutely perfect. Had an amazing holiday. Thanks LizYour very own little bit of Turkey
We loved our stay at olive cottage, it was peaceful and a very pleasant place to stay. Location wise it is right between the village and the beach (15 minute walk either way to each) and the cottage itself is off away from any busy roads. The garden is lovely and the splash pool is perfect when you need to cool off. Liz and Ahmet are wonderful hosts and nothing was a problem for them. I would recommend the cottage to anyone and was a perfect place to go if you want to get away from it all. The cottage is about a 40-55 minute drive from bodrum airport. We got a taxi /transfer which Liz kindly booked for us.Lovely quiet cottage
I stayed here with a friend for 11 nights recently. I booked direct with the owner, Liz, who was really efficient and helpful. The cottage is even more beautiful in reality than the pictures show. It was surrounded by trees and definitely off the beaten track. We loved the seclusion which helped us relax and unwind. Delightful and peaceful hideaway
